Rayman Legends Retold Adds 43 Minutes Of New Music
Ubisoft has announced that Rayman Legends Retold is getting an overhauled audio presentation, including 43 minutes of new music that was not in the original release.
Rayman Legends was built on an older in-house engine, and the remake is being rebuilt around a modern audio framework. The team is keeping nearly all of the original soundtrack by Christophe Héral and Billy Martin, and adding to it.
The new audio engine brings positional audio, clearer sound prioritisation and support for modern surround sound standards. The mix separates music, ambient sound, voices and gameplay effects more clearly, so the game should be easier to read while you play.
The 43 minutes of new music include extra Dragon Ride tracks, music for an entirely new realm and orchestral recordings performed by a 75-piece symphonic orchestra in Vienna. Grant Kirkhope also wrote new music for the Land of the Livid Dead realm.
The remake also adds new musical levels, alongside returning favourites like "The Eye of the Tiger" and "Black Betty." Ubisoft has already revealed one of them, a level with a Macarena cover, and says more music-driven stages are still to be announced.
Newly recorded dialogue and voice acting are part of the update too. David Gasman returns as Rayman and Billy West returns as Murphy, with new performances for characters including Barbara, and the story is tied more closely to progression through the worlds.
Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition, which is included with Rayman Legends Retold, gets its own audio upgrades. These include the same modernised audio engine, remastered assets, support for 5.1 surround sound and an updated mix. Rayman Legends Retold is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 3, 2026.
