Privacy policy
This page explains what Nintendo Scoop collects when you read the site, and why.
What we collect
Nintendo Scoop has no accounts and asks you for no personal details. Like every website, our hosting provider's servers record technical information about each visit, such as your IP address, the page you asked for, the time and your browser type. We use this to keep the site secure and to understand how much it is read.
Statistics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. These tools use cookies.
- If your browser time zone is in Europe, the UK or Switzerland, a message asks for your choice. Until you press Accept, no analytics cookies are stored, and the analytics tool receives only anonymous visit counts. Pressing Decline keeps it that way.
- Elsewhere, analytics cookies are used from your first visit, and you can switch them off at any time.
- You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
- If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we do not run analytics for you at all.
Comments
Comments under our posts are provided by Disqus. Disqus is only contacted when you open the comments on a post. In Europe, the UK and Switzerland that happens only after you press Load comments. Disqus sets its own cookies and may show advertising: see Disqus's privacy policy for how it handles your data. Anything you write in a comment is public.
Counting visits to posts
To show which posts are read most, we count how many different visitors open each post. This uses no cookies and stores nothing personal: a visitor is a scrambled code that changes every day, and it is deleted after a few days. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, your visit is not counted.
Videos
Some posts include a video. It is played by YouTube, but only after you press the play button: until then nothing is loaded from YouTube, and the player used is YouTube's privacy-enhanced one.
Links to other sites
Our pages link to social networks and other sites. They have their own privacy practices, and we do not control them.
Children
Nintendo Scoop is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or California law), you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to some uses of it. To make a request, email hello@nintendoscoop.com.
Changes
We will update this page if what we do changes. Last updated: October 25, 2026.
