Minecraft 26.60 Update Out Now, Patch Notes

Minecraft has released its latest major update, bringing the game up to version 26.60.

The update adds a new cave biome called the Ice Cave, along with new icicles, ice crystals and frostbites. Mojang Studios also said it has fixed over 600 bugs.

The Ice Cave generates under the colder biomes in the Overworld. It is made mostly of Packed Ice and Calcite, with icicles hanging from the ceiling and growing on the ground, and patches of snow appearing now and then. Strays and Frostbites can spawn there alongside the usual cave mobs.

The update also adds a new Frostbite zombie variant that throws Ice Balls and uses melee attacks that apply the Freezing effect. Ice Balls can be used to brew Lingering Potion, Splashing Potion and Potion of Freezing, and Arrows of Freezing can be made by dipping arrows in a cauldron of Potion of Freezing.

Alongside the new content, the update includes a long list of fixes, including changes to accessibility and narration in Realms, Redstone behaviour and command handling.
