SEGA Reports 1.97 Million Sonic Game Sales In Six Months
SEGA has reported that Sonic the Hedgehog games sold 1.97 million units across the first six months of its fiscal year.
The brand has had its ups and downs over the years, but its overall popularity currently seems fairly stable. Last week we reported that SEGA CEO Admits Sonic Boom Was A Disaster, with CEO Haruki Satomi calling the Wii U game Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric the biggest low point for the franchise.
In its latest financial results, SEGA says Sonic games sold 980,000 units between April and June 2026, then another 990,000 between July and September 2026. Together those two quarters make up the 1.97 million total for the first half of the fiscal year.

Sales are still 10.9% below the same period last year.
