Nintendo Calls Pokemon Winds / Waves A Crucial Switch 2 Release

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has said that Pokemon Winds and Waves will be a crucial release for Switch 2. He said this during a financial results Q&A this week.

Furukawa also said Nintendo will do its best to maximize sales when the game launches.

Pokemon Winds and Waves is a brand-new title due on Switch 2 next year. Furukawa said it will arrive as the console enters its third year on the market. When asked about the game's effect on Switch 2 sales, Furukawa said:

We intend to do our utmost to maximize its sales.

Furukawa also pointed to Pokemon Pokopia, released this March, as a major driver of Switch 2 sales. He added that Pokemon titles have historically played a vital role in adopting Nintendo's dedicated gaming hardware.
