Nintendo Research Finds Movie Fans More Satisfied Watching With Others

Nintendo has shared that people were more satisfied watching The Super Mario Galaxy Movie with other people than when they watched it alone. The detail came up during the Q&A portion of the company's financial results briefing this week.

Earlier, we reported that Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa had commented on the success of the Super Mario Bros. Movies and hinted at more films to come. You can read that here: Nintendo Discusses Mario Movies' Success, Still Teasing More Films.

According to senior executive officer and corporate director Yusuke Beppu, the company looked into how satisfied people were after seeing the film. Viewers who watched in groups of two were more satisfied than those who went alone, and satisfaction was higher still for groups of four.

Beppu tied this to Nintendo's long-standing focus on playing together, pointing to the four controller ports on the Nintendo 64 as an example. He said the ability to play together is a reason people choose Nintendo products, and that it helps grow the number of players. Nintendo is also still teasing more movies in the future, which was mentioned during the same presentation.
