Montabi Gets Physical Release On Nintendo Switch 2
Nejcraft has announced a physical release for Montabi on Nintendo Switch 2, made with Akupara Games and Mankibo. Copies should ship in Q1 2027.
The game is a creature-collecting roguelike deckbuilder, so the physical version is the same full game on a cartridge, not a game-key card. Only a standard version is planned for now. Nejcraft hasn't announced any special editions.
The game is about taming and collecting creatures called Montabi and building a team to take on the X Gang in tactical turn-based battles. Each Montabi has its own abilities and cards, and you can train and evolve them to unlock new moves. Battles take place on a 3x3 grid, where both positioning and card choices matter. You can pick a trainer based on your style, and if your trainer is knocked out, the run ends.
There are 22 starters to choose from, each with its own evolutionary line and deck, plus over 500 cards to find. You can pre-order the physical release now, and our Montabi review has more on how the game plays.
