Ova Magica Gets Switch Release Date, Also Coming To Switch 2
Top Hat Studios and Skinny Frog have announced the final release date for Ova Magica on Nintendo Switch, and confirmed a Switch 2 version as well.
The game was first announced for Nintendo Switch in August 2020, and it was most recently planned for last July before being delayed. The release date now appears to be locked in, and the game is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
Ova Magica is a farming and monster taming game with JRPG and life-sim elements, set in a small town called Clover Town. Its creatures, called Blobs, hatch from eggs, come in dozens of varieties that can be cross-bred, and can help out around your farm.
As you build relationships with the locals and the town, hidden temples, dungeons and portals to other dimensions start to open up. Expeditions into these blob worlds are where you find rare eggs, legendary items and crafting materials.
Other parts of the game include farming, friendships and romance, a strategic Active Time Battle system, crafting, and a range of everyday activities like fishing and mining. A new release date trailer for the game is available to watch.
