Village in the Shade Launches On Switch 2 and Switch

NIS America has released Village in the Shade in the West, following its earlier launch in Japan. The cozy farming game is now available on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.

The game is a farming sim set in Kagatsu, a Japanese mountain village with a few secrets. It was made by the team behind the Yomawari series, and the art is hand-painted.

You plant crops, decorate your homestead with furniture bought in town, and craft fences and other items from resources gathered around your farm. You can also take part in traditional festivals like the summer festival and cherry-blossom viewing, and get to know your neighbours along the way.

The game comes with a few rules: don't talk to strangers, don't leave the village, and don't go out at night. Players who find horror unsettling can pick the "Village in the Sunshine" mode, where the rules cannot be broken.

NIS America has shared the launch trailer, and you can watch it below. If you'd like more detail first, we have a review of the game on the site.
