Shift Up and PlatinumGames Detail Bayonetta Costumes in Stellar Blade

Shift Up and PlatinumGames have shared more about how the Bayonetta costumes ended up in Stellar Blade, in an interview published by Famitsu.

The collaboration brings Bayonetta outfits into Stellar Blade, and the two studios have now explained how the work was approved and built.

One detail from the interview is that PlatinumGames stayed mostly hands-off. According to its CEO Atsushi Inaba, being nitpicky would have ruined the collaboration, so the studio simply asked Shift Up to do a good job and trusted them to handle it.

Shift Up's Kim Hyung Tae described the process as a fun learning experience, especially recreating the words that decorate Bayonetta's outfit.

Kim also designed one of the collaboration outfits that does not come from the original game. He said he kept his own style intact while making it fit Eve and the world of Bayonetta, and he thanked PlatinumGames for approving it. Stellar Blade launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026.
