Modern Warfare 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Tech Analysis Released

Digital Foundry has published a technical analysis of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Nintendo Switch 2, covering frame rate and resolution. It is the first Call of Duty game on a Nintendo platform in over a decade.

The port is a decent effort, though it comes with tradeoffs. The campaign targets 30 frames per second, and some graphical features have been cut back.

The install is 88GB, compared with 120GB on PS5. Bump mapping and screen space reflections have been removed. The campaign frame rate is mostly stable, with drops during the Paris shootout, while multiplayer can dip into the 40s at points. Docked resolution is dynamic 900p with DLSS, dropping to 450p in the worst cases, and handheld mode runs at a dynamic 720p baseline with lows of 360p.

According to Activision, Nintendo is "all in" on Call of Duty for Switch 2.
