Dataminer Finds Spiny Was Apparently Meant To Be Playable In Mario Kart World

A dataminer has found that Spiny was apparently meant to be playable in Mario Kart World, the Nintendo Switch 2 kart racer.

Spiny's internal name shows up as a driver in several in-game files, which suggests the character was at one point planned for the roster.

It's not clear why Spiny didn't make it into the final game. The report says Spiny could still be added at a later date, but nothing about that has been confirmed.
