Nintendo Switch 2 No Longer the Fastest-Selling Console in the U.S., but Doing “Very Well”
Circana's latest report shows Nintendo Switch 2 sales in the United States are down 12 percent year over year, which means the console is no longer the fastest-selling one in the country.
Lower numbers can look worrying at first, but the picture is more mixed than that single figure suggests. Circana's Mat Piscatella says the console is still doing very well, and he points to the first year being unusually strong, with few supply limits to compare against. Piscatella said:
I'm not seeing anything to be concerned about in the Switch 2 numbers at all, and I'm sure it's going to pop with Zelda.
The price increase took effect in September, but Nintendo dropped the Mario Kart World bundle and sold the console on its own at the same price point, so the shelf price did not change much.

Piscatella also expects strong demand for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which is due soon, and he said people are going to buy the Zelda Switch 2 console, the special 40th anniversary edition that has just shipped.
In the UK, The Game Business reports that Switch 2 sales remain strong, with unit sales up 17 percent year over year in September and up 2.2 percent so far in October.
